How do you prove ownership?

Proving ownership with Hoseki is simple, secure, and non-custodial.

When you connect your wallet or device, we ask you to sign a short message using your private key. This is a standard process called message signing. It’s supported by most wallets and lets you prove that you control a specific Bitcoin address — without sending any funds or revealing your key.

Once you complete the signature, Hoseki verifies that it’s valid for the address you’re claiming. This confirms that you are in control of the Bitcoin at that address.

From there, we generate a statement of ownership — a document that cryptographically proves you control a specific amount of Bitcoin. This statement acts as proof of funds for your self-custodial Bitcoin and can be shared with others, like lenders, institutions, or counterparties who need verification.

You never share your private keys, and we never take custody of your funds. It’s proof — not permission.
